The Oil & Gas Journal's 13th Annual Study of Pipeline Installation and Equipment Costs includes the U.S. Interstate Commerce Commission's index of oil pipeline construction (1934-69) and equipment (1948-69) costs; variables in construction costs; the growing use of turbine power for gas transmission, including estimated costs for various-sized units; completed transmission compressor-station costs; trends in construction costs in 1963-70; completed transmission line, offshore line, and lateral line costs; recent increases in oil pipeline efficiency with concomitant reductions in unit revenue; and estimated costs for eight specific projects.
