PIPELINES INSTALLED ON THE OCEAN FLOOR CAN BE MONITORED OR SERVICED

Pipelines installed on the ocean floor can be monitored or serviced by a device consisting of a section of U-shaped loops perpendicular to the pipeline axis and connected to the main pipeline by a swivel; a float attached to the section and to a compressed air source, and valves or connections on a manifold in the float for maintenance or monitoring devices.
