Six new ideas for offshore pipelining include (1) the Hydroball connector by HydroTech Services, Inc. for compensating misalignment between pipe ends to be connected, (2) the PC-15 diver lockout submarine operational to depths of 1200 ft being buitl by Perry Oceanographics, Inc. for early 1973 completion, (3) the Linalog-WLC self-contained instrumented pipeline pig for detection of weld line defects, (4) Seadomes by Oceaneering International Inc. up to 48 ft dia and 33 ft high for protecting wellheads and other underwater installations while also sheltering divers and providing clear water for good visibility, (5) the Slect-A-Torq hydraulic torque wrench that githtens or loosens bolted connections, and (6) conversions of ore-oil carriers for use as pipe-lay ships, including the 40,000 dwt "Orca" and the "Soya Atlantic".
