A review with 14 references covers the development of LNG will increase toward the higher prices negotiated for gas landed in the U.S.; base-load application of LNG in Japan, the first base-load project scheduled for the U.S. in 1974, and the likelihood of more base-load applications; LNG technology; LNG tanker development; and the probability that tanker costs would account for half of the funds needed to establish any Australian LNG operation.
