BULK FLOW MEASUREMENT OF REFRIGERATED HYDROCARBONS
Bulk flow measurement of refrigerated hydrocarbons can be done with conventional flow-measuring devices. Although measurement precision and equipment performance can be severely affected by the physical properties of the products and the low handling temperatures, good equipment and system design can reduce these effects to within the limits defined by the California State Weights and Measures Authority (limits for the U.K. have not been established). The properties of refrigerated hydrocarbons, the problems associated with these properties and with low-temperature operation, available flow-measuring devices and their calibration are discussed.
