VERTICAL DISTRIBUTION OF THE CORRELATION COEFFICIENT AND GEOMETRICAL SCALES OF TURBULENCE IN AN OPEN CHANNEL
In this experimental study the author determined the values of various correlation coefficients between the turbulent velocity components of two different points as well as of the geometrical scales of turbulence and also investigated their distribution in the particular verticals and profiles in straight and curved sections of an open channel. The information obtained may contribute to the development of a more perfect picture of the turbulent mixing in the streamflow of an open channel and to the accuracy of theories dealing with the movement of different suspended materials and with heat processes occurring during flow in open channels.
