Analysis on the Evaluation of Shopper Circulation in Commercial Areas around Railway Stations.

This paper simulates the shopping behavior in several commercial areas around railway stations in Tokyo and evaluates shopper circulation from the perspective of each of suppliers and consumers. In addition, the authors devised commercial measures based on the ideas of traffic lines used in shopping malls and verified the effects of store arrangement. The results of the simulation indicate that store density and the distribution of popular stores have a profound effect on shopper circulation. The results also show that the concentration of specific sectors is effective to improve circulation in good balance, and there are some measures that respond to the characteristics of local road patterns.
