Test Procedure for Mechanics-Based Assessment of Flexible Base Quality
The scope of this research is to use commercially available ground penetrating radar (GPR) system and apply the developed methodologies to estimate the modulus of a base layer or estimate pavement layer composition values, including water content or asphalt content, density, percent air or porosity in the asphalt, concrete, base, and subgrade layers using micro-mechanics models.
