Critical review of design and development practices that relate to access for people with disability (universal access): Part 2 Performance-based concepts and training requirements - Year 1 (2019/20)
The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has committed to improving the provision of accessible transport infrastructure for all users with a significant focus being placed on access for people with disabilities. This report aimed to identify and review current performance-based concepts/strategies used in the design and planning of universal access and determine whether these may assist in ensuring dignified and defensible accessibility for all users. Training courses available to industry professionals and professional competency requirements were also reviewed, gaps were identified, and improvements were recommended.
