The Coupled Dynamic Behavior Analysis of the Link Parts and the Application to the Design of the Multi-link Crank Mechanism for Variable Compression Ratio Engine

The multi-link system is articulated link mechanism using conventional plane bearings to achieve variable compression ratio. The arrangement of control shaft which is unique parts of multi-link system affects the dynamic characteristics. The load of links was affected not only by the arrangement of link system but also by the coupled dynamic behavior. It was confirmed that torque fluctuation causes rotational acceleration including torsional vibration and the input load of C-Link was also increased by the coupled dynamic behavior.Consequently,it was found that the arrangement of control shaft should be set adequately to achieve small and lightweight.
