Louisiana Experience with Inverted Pavement Systems
Inverted pavement systems are used to optimize material consumption and provide long-term performance benefits. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) has successfully adopted inverted pavement systems with demonstrated cost savings and environmental benefits. This brief reports discusses LADOTD's motivation in experimenting with inverted pavement systems; what was done; what benefits were achieved; and key outcomes/lessons learned.
