MULTIPLATFORM COMPLEX SERVES OFFSHORE GAS LINE
Michigan Wisconsin Pipe Line Co. has recently made a significant improvement in its ability to handle off-shore Louisiana gas deliveries by installing the first large-scale offshore compressor station in the Gulf of Mexico. The 26,000-hp station is located in Block 188 of the Eugene Island area, 73 miles south-southwest of Margan City, La., in 66 ft of water. Initial delivery capacity is 990 MMscfd; addition of further facilities would raise this considerably. Station includes compressor, liquids-handling, and quarters platform. Two-phase flow system accumulates liquids. Block diagram of major gas and liquid piping is shown.
