AN ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF THE PROPULSION SYSTEM OF A SMALL ROBOT SUBMERSIBLE
The purpose of the work was to analyze and design the power system for a small robot submarine. The submarine would be programmable to follow courses and search patterns at a controllable depth while gathering data. Specifically, this work deals with the analysis, selection, testing, and design of the propellor, gearbox, motor, and battery. It includes a computer program which analyzes the range of the submarine as a function of drag coefficient, speed, components, and other parmeters.
