DOWNHILL SLUMPING IS PREVENTED IN A SHUTDOWN SLURRY PIPELINE

Downhill slumping is prevented in a shutdown slurry pipeline by injecting a gas into the line at selected locations to fluidize the solids, thus preventing the formation of solid particle plugs in the low regions of the line.
