A SLURRY IS CONTINUOUSLY PUMPED THROUGH A CONDUIT

A slurry is continuously pumped through a conduit by diluting it upstream of the pump and then removing the diluent downstream of the pump, the diluent circulating because of a pressure differential. Preferably, both the dilution and concentration sections consist of perforated sections of pipe surrounded by jackets which are connected by a conduit. The method is suitable for wood chips, coal, or potash.
