ENERGY SAVINGS AND PUBLIC LIGHTING
ECONOMIES D'ENERGIE ET ECLAIRAGE PUBLIC
The authors discuss the development of public lighting towards increased safety and comfort. These objectives are not incompatible with energy savings. The solutions to be rejected are mentioned together with solutions proposed, selection of equipment, consideration of the brightness of the pavement, improvements such as uniformity of luminance, extension of the lifetime of lamps, decrease in energy losses. Efficient maintenance and operational systems are suggested. (TRRL)
