DOUBLE-BELLOWS EXPANSION JOINTS ORDERED FOR LNG NATURAL GAS SHIPLOADING SYSTEM

Cosmodyne Corp. will use 129 Flexonics double-bellows expansion joints in shiploading facilities for the Lumut, Brunei, LNG plant. The 13 ft 18 in. stainless steel expansion joints will weigh 1600 lb and will absorb thermal contraction, installation tolerances, and the angular and linear motion caused by wave action against two trestle-mounted cryogenic pipelines running nearly three miles out to sea. Flexonics is also building 18 in. single-bellows exapnsion joints for the offshore system and a series of smaller joints for onshore lines. Units will be assembled by exterior circumferential welds only.
