DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF PLATES AND CYLINDRICAL SHELLS TO MOVING MASSES
The dynamic responses of plates and cylindrical shells to a moving mass are presented. The mass may move harmonically along and/or perpendicularly to the plate or shell. Solutions are obtained by a finite integral transform on space followed by the application of a stable finite difference technique on time. It is shown that the accelerations (centrifugal and coriolis) induced by beam curvature may play an important role in the dynamic responses. (Author)
