The BRRC measures the deflection of roads

OCW meet de deflectie van wegen

The BRRC has been conducting deflection measurements in Belgium for many years. The 16-year-old FWD will soon be replaced by a Fast-FWD. The new Fast-FWD is equipped with an integrated GPS, which makes it easier to map the measurement results if there are no reference points (kilometer markers, house numbers, lighting poles, etc.) in the vicinity. This occurs in open spaces such as car parks and industrial estates. Another application of the GPS is the retrospective finding of a position where an FWD measurement has been made in order to drill a core.
