Spatial Heterogeneity and Mechanism of Multidimensional Poverty in Contiguous Destitute Areas of Yunnan

Based on the theory of spatial differentiation and regional deprivation compensation, a multidimensional evaluation method of 91 county areas in Yunnan province China is proposed. The leading factors were analyzed and divided into types of impoverished counties. Results show that the traffic poverty in the border area of Western Yunan, the ecological poverty in the rocky desert area of Yunan and the human poverty in the Wumeng Mountain Area were particularly serious. Factors affecting poverty regional spatial differentiation include the illiteracy rate of young people, traffic superiority, per capita GDP and the proportion of the ethnic minorities, and the interaction effect of two factors on the spatial heterogeneity of poverty is much greater. Based on the spatial classification results of poverty heterogeneity mechanism and cluster analysis, the study area is divided into four types of poverty areas and formulates targeted poverty alleviation measures.
