Failure Mode Analysis of the Interface between On-Board and Region Operation Systems in the High-Speed Maglev System

In the high-speed maglev transportation system, the protection of train operations is provided by the cooperation of the on-board operation system and the ground operation system. The interface between on-board operation system and region operation system is a logical interface, which is implemented by way of a wireless communication system and safety communication module. In this paper, based on the safety concepts, regulations, and the design of train safety protection, the faults, errors and failures of the interface between on-board operation system and region operation system are discussed, including the redundancy loss of critical components, the physical channel failure and the logical channel loss caused by data validity or safety check reject, etc. Based on the interface structure, analysis of single point faults and the scheduling of failure, a state transition diagram is proposed.
