Weather Processing and Analysis System of Automated Vehicles Based on Internet of Vehicles

To enhance the driving safety of automated vehicles under adverse weather, the weather processing and analysis system model is taken for automated vehicles based on connected vehicles and the driving strategy could be optimized according to real-time weather. The model uses on-board sensors and traffic information acquisition technology to obtain real-time weather dates and traffic information dates which would be transmitted to the terminal of the vehicle via short-range communication technology. Meanwhile, the instruction from the terminal is fed into an electronic control unit (ECU) to regulate the speed of the vehicle to account for weather and traffic. In addition, the road-side warning devices also provide the recommended speed to enhance the driving stability and safety of automated vehicles. The results show that weather processing and analysis system can apply into automated vehicles to adapt to adverse weather.
