Vehicle Speed Guidance at Signal Control Intersections Based on Cooperative Vehicle Infrastructure System

The cooperative vehicle infrastructure system (CVIS) is used to acquire real-time information such as vehicle position, vehicle speed, queue length, and signal status by wireless communication, and sensor detection technology. In order to improve the traffic efficiency in the intersection, this paper proposes a speed guidance strategy by analyzing the driving behavior of autonomous vehicles in the intersections. In the cellular automata model, the vehicle location and speed can be obtained every second. In this paper, the NS (NaSch) model of cellular automaton model is improved according to the speed guidance strategy, and the speed guidance model (SG model) based on cellular automaton. The results show that the model can effectively increase the number of vehicles passing through the intersection.
