The carbon price implicit in the Norwegian road, fuel and vehicle taxation system
Prisen på CO2-utslipp i veitrafikken
The Norwegian automobile fleet is being electrified at an unparalleled speed, by means of a powerful set of fiscal instruments. The report calculates the price of carbon implicit in each instrument. Norwegian automobile owners and users face a total carbon price exceeding 1250 euros per ton of carbon dioxide (CO₂). For light commercial vehicles and heavy duty freight vehicles, respectively, the corresponding prices are estimated at around 500 and 200 euros per ton of CO₂.
