New Routes to Equity: The Future of Transportation in the Black Community

The authors describe how African American communities have been historically denied environmental justice, particularly in transportation, and the continuing challenges African Americans face in transportation systems in the United States. The authors then discuss transportation innovations such as electric and autonomous vehicles and shared mobility, and offer policy recommendations for how such innovations can equitably serve Black communities.
