USE OF RESINS IN ROAD AND BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION AND REPAIR

This paper presents a critical and practical review of the use of resins in the civil engineering industry, and in particular, in road and bridge construction and repair. Several practical examples are illustrated, such as expansion joints, nosings, surfacings, adhesives and of bonded reinforcement. The paper emphasises areas where further research is needed and also suggests possible future applications. It is emphasised that the paper summarises the author's own experiences and does not reflect the views of the Department of Transport. (Author/TRRL)
