Curb and Mobility Management: The Role of Pricing, Incentives, and Data for Improving Curbside Utilization in Cities

This report looks at mobility management and the impact of ridehailing and delivery services on city curb space. Micromobility services such as shared bikes and scooters are also discussed. Curb pricing models are described including metered parking, zone-based fees (downtown, airport, city), time-of-day fees, and commercial loading zones. In addition, information is presented regarding the micromobility fees of 40 cities based on survey data from Populus and the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO). It is suggested that data standards would assist cities in curb management.
