Numerical analysis of fish farm behaviour in real operational conditions
There is no question about the relevancy of the aquaculture as a long-term strategy to support sustainable growth in the marine sector. To reach this goal, the analytical and numerical analyses of fish farms subject to different environmental condition are absolutely necessary. Typical configuration of a fish farm, which is composed by a set of individual circular fish cages, is considered. In fact, the influence on fish farm mooring behaviour in different sea states is also studied. A procedure to carry out realistic simulation saving computational cost is presented. The influence of several key parameters in platform design is analysed. Summarily, a comprehensive analysis of a fish farm in operational conditions is carried out. The results lead to final discussion about the performance of fish farm in different environmental conditions.
