A Study on the Public Transit Transfer Behavior in New Rail Cities Based on Travelers’ Cognition

With the increase of new rail cities and of public transit network, it is inevitable to transfer during a trip. Transfer is an important part of the public transport system and the key link of the trip departure. This paper conducts an in-depth study of the public transit transfer behavior along Guiyang Rail Line 1. Through a survey, the statistical analysis is made to the distribution characteristics of the number of acceptable transfer times and transfer distance. Results show that most people are willing to accept two or fewer transfer times and the transfer distances within 400 m, so as to provide theoretical guidance for the layout of public transit stations along the new rail cities. Next, an ordered logit model is constructed to solve the influencing factors of the acceptable transfer distance. Research indicates that age, gender, occupation, and income level have effects on the acceptable transfer distance.
