The article examines contemporary arguments being used to justify price regulation in taxi markets. It is shown that in the main these arguments imply a lack of information by consumers. While it is clear that this may have once been a problem in taxi markets, it is shown that, at least in more recent times, these informational deficiencies should no longer be exaggerated.
