Conference on Health and Active Transportation
The Conference on Health and Active Transportation (CHAT) was held December 11-12, 2019, in Washington, D.C., with 145 registered participants. The conference brought together leaders from the transportation and health disciplines to chart a course for the future around three theme areas using active transportation (AT) as the canvas: reflecting on innovative practices, building strategic institutional relationships, and identifying research needs and opportunities. Plenary sessions captured the essence of each theme while individual breakout sessions gave participants an opportunity to drill down on the various themes. Conference attendees were drawn largely from the transportation and public health fields. This publication summarizes the proceedings of the conference.
