PILOT MODELS FOR DETERMINATION OF CIVILIAN UTILITY OF DOD DEVELOPED PRODUCTS: COMPUTER-AIDED SHIP DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION: A CASE STUDY

For the purpose of evaluating technology transfer within the Department of the Navy, an analysis of a single area, 'Computer-Aided Ship Design and Construction (CASDAC)', was conducted. Navy software products were surveyed and evaluated. Their usage within industry was determined. Recommendations were made as to methods for improving the flow of CASDAC technology from the Navy to the civilian shipbuilding firms. (Author)
