A novel simulated view of harbor management dynamics
Nowadays, the operational efficiency of a harbor relies on the information visibility. The information, including the movement of vessels, the availability of resources, and the conditions of the harbor, usually is uncertain and requires simulation to gain the optimized outcomes. This paper presents a novel framework and the overall efficiency model about how such a harbor management information system is designed, including the system architecture, the data schemas, the algorithms, and the proposed information dynamic views. In addition to these valuable dynamic views, the proposed simulation framework can also disclose the perspectives, such as berth service statistics, repair time history, and vessel type statistics, can be extended and used in the harbor service capacity forecasting to improve the harbor daily management.
