BACKGROUND TO BUCKLING
The book reviews analytical methods for studying the stability of struts, frameworks, plates, girders, shells and arches. Results are presented linked with the most recent design codes of practice in the UK, USA and Europe. A coherent account of buckling problems is presented starting from basic principles and continuing with methods of analysis and design techniques. The subject is discussed under the following headings: principles; struts; frameworks; plates and girders; torsional and local buckling; lateral buckling of beams; and shells and arches. (TRRL)
