Mainstreaming the Environment in EU Transport Funding
This report is a deliverable of the study on Mainstreaming of the environment in EU transport funding carried out in 2019. The overall objective of the study is to understand how environmental considerations are integrated into EU transport funding in the 2014-2020 period at programming and project level, in order to facilitate the mainstreaming of the environment in future EU transport funding. As part of this assignment, this report maps sustainable transport investments across the EU 2014-2020 budget, identifying relevant EU funding programmes and presenting findings on the overall level of investment for sustainable transport. It seeks to identify mainstreaming approaches, highlighting good approaches and challenges in environmental mainstreaming used in EU funding programmes.
