ASSESSING REGULATORY IMPACTS: THE FEDERAL EXPERIENCE WITH THE AUTO INDUSTRY
The report assesses the availability of consistent and complete estimates of the costs and benefits of proposed motor vehicle regulations. It is based on an independent review of agency analyses of the 56 regulations included in the "automobile calendar". The report is a broader effort to examine and improve regulatory decisionmaking.
