INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECT OF ETHANOL FUEL SUPPLEMENTATION ON COMPRESSION AND SPARK IGNITION ENGINES
Investigations have been carried out at the Repco Engine Technical Centre regarding the dynamometer operation of engines of both ignition types on fuel supplemented with ethanol. Project progress is reviewed, with some detail concerning recent work involving supplementary alcohol fumigation of a diesel- fuelled engine, and aspects of the operation of passenger car petrol engines on ethanol blended with several different petrol types in varying ethanol concentrations.
