GUIDES TO GOOD PRACTICE. MAINTENANCE OF PRESTRESSED CONCRETE STRUCTURES

The recommendations relate to all structural components which include prestressing steel or for any part of the structure which is subject to a prestressing force; they do not concern problems during construction. Sections are included on: maintenance: (1) servicing; (2) routine inspection; (3) major inspection; (4) reports and investigation - non-destructive testing equipment, analysis, cracks, corrosion of prestressing steel, protection of prestressing steel. Repair: (1) repair project - later increase of prestressing force, exchange of prestressing cables, repair of grouted cables, improvement of concrete cover to prestressing cables or wire, replacement of concrete in a prestressed zone, instructions for repair work; (2) repair execution - special equipment; (3) repair report.
