EVALUATION OF RETRO-REFLECTIVE MEASUREMENT DEVICES. SUMMARY REPORT
The project was conducted to identify and evaluate instruments capable of measuring the retro-reflectance of highway traffic stripes under daylight conditions in the field. Four instruments were identified and evaluated. Two of these instruments are manufactured in Europe. The others were developed in the United States but are not commercially available. All instruments evaluated have some capability for measuring retro-reflectance of highway traffic stripes in the field. Three of the instruments are conveniently useable by field crews for this purpose. A Final Report containing documentary photographs and detail test data is available from NTIS (PB81-243594). (FHWA)
