THE "STATIC" CAR
L'AUTO IMMOBILE
The "static" car describes how car enjoyment has turned into boredom, how cars have become a symbol of prison rather than evasion. The author examines the place of the car in the present society and warns that it is time to set up a coherent and voluntary transport policy that takes account of users, manufacturers and public authorities. A sketch is presented of tomorrow's car, of a new concept of public transport and of a fair competition between the car and other transport modes. (TRRL)
