INTERVIEWS WITH EMERGENCY DOCTORS ON THE PROBLEMS OF BEHAVIOUR AT ACCIDENT SITES
NOTARZTBEFRAGUNG ZUM PROBLEMBEREICH "VERHALTEN AM UNFALLORT"
The study was a continuation of research in which behaviour at accident sites was observed. The aim was to check the practicality of measures proposed by questioning doctors involved. The following information was obtained from the interviews: doctors vouch for the readiness of people to offer help; the organised rescue services have problems associated with "competition" with laymen who are first aiders, and would like more cooperation in methods of work; the majority are for first aid administration by police officers who arrive earlier at the scene of the accident; there are differing opinions on whether first aiders should intervene and whether they should help injured people wearing crash helmets, and there are differing opinions in increasing education in first aid.
