RELOCATION OF RESIDENTS DISPLACED BY CONSTRUCTION OF I-205 IN WASHINGTON
The details and findings are outlined of a study which examined the effects of relocation (in Clark County, Washington) including the adequacy of housing before and after relocation, benefits provided by the state, opinions of relocatees concerning their new housing and neighborhoods, and opinions of the type and amount of assistance provided through the relocation process. The study provides attitudinal information derived from families relocated under federal and state statutes. About 79% of the families indicated that the current state relocation program and process were adequate. A significant finding was the upgrading of the housing that occurred as a result of relocation.
