THE VISIBILITY, COLOUR AND MEASURING REQUIREMENTS OF ROAD SIGNS
This paper reviews the requirements for colour and scil values in the specification of retroreflective materials employed in road signs. Visibility, legibility, colour, luminance are some of the factors analysed. Based on this analysis several conclusions are given. They support the thesis that the main point is "the minimum necessary" and not "the best possible" for a specification in a standard. (Author/TRRL)
