TECHNICAL MILESTONES IN TRUCK AND BUS EVOLUTION

The story of milestones and technology related to trucks and buses involves three periods (1) the beginnings, when acceptance of motorized transport was established; (2) the maturity of the industry, when there was a rapid growth in automobiles, trucks and buses, and new road systems to accommodate them; and (3) the period since World War II when technical advances have been a matter of evolutionary refinement and improvement.
