LARGE-SCALE STRUCTURES OF THE PARIS-SOUTH-EAST EXPRESS LINE

LES GRANDS OUVRAGES DE LA LIGNE A TRES GRANDE VITESSE PARIS-SUD-EST

The author briefly recalls the generalities of the Paris-Southeast express line, the alignment and geological conditions along the track, the constraints taken into account in the planning: satisfactory geometry of the track, strength and durability, economic, technical and aesthetic constraints. A description is given of the viaducts, and mention is made of the special recommendations to ensure the durability of the large scale prestressed concrete railway structures. The progress of the work is outlined: the viaduct across the Seine at Montereau, viaduct over the Burgundy Canal and the Armancon River, the Serein and Saulieu viaducts, the Arroux, Ladree, Digoine, La Roche viaducts, and the viaduct over the central canal and the RN74. The precautions taken during launching by sliding are described.
