THE ANALYTICAL DESIGN OF CONCRETE PAVEMENTS
This paper considers fundamentally based design procedures for concrete roads. The literature has been reviewed for procedures relevant to the analysis of concrete roads, for structural performance models, and for data relating to material performance. It was concluded that further development of analysis techniques, particularly in relation to pavements containing cracked layers is necessary. Also, further information relating laboratory measurements of material performance to field performance is necessary. If this information is forthcoming and by drawing on information from other research fields, it will be possible to produce a detailed fundamentally based design package. (Author)
