“Uber is here to stay”: Exploring the policy implications of the Uber-Local Taxis turf war in Accra, Ghana
As Transportation Network Companies (TNCs) such as Uber have grown in popularity around the world, they have come into conflict with traditional taxi services. This paper examines the perspective of taxi operators, TNC drivers and users in Accra, Ghana, as taxi services and TNCs struggle to control the transportation space. This paper addresses the legality of TNCs and makes recommendations for government policies to regulate TNC operation.
