REPEATED LOADING ON SINGLE PILES IN SAND-DISCUSSION AND CLOSURE

The discussers note that the conclusions derived in the paper are not general enough for use in design. Comments are also made on the relative density of the sand into which test piles have been driven, and pile behavior. It is observed that surcharge pressure value is likely to influence the dividing line, and therefore smaller/larger loads need be defined in relation to the applied surcharge pressure. The author, in his closure, addresses the issues raised.
