AN ANALYSIS OF THE WORLD COAL STUDY
The present situation regarding oil, coal and other energy sources is described, and the use of coal as a substitute for oil is discussed with regard to calorific value and costs. Present and future demand and production of coal are estimated and the future importance of coal commented upon. New techniques for recovery and utilization of coal including coal-fired ships, in-situ gasification, slurry transportation, and coal-oil mixtures are described. Order from NSFI as No. 22439.
