A DANISH ICEBREAKER DESIGN

The paper evaluates the new Danish icebreaker under construction. The hull shape and its icebreaking capabilities have been studied for the continuous mode and for the ramming mode. ... The paper comments on recent research findings and propose aspects of research on propeller ice interactions. A trial test objective is finally outlined from a research viewpoint. (Author)
